All of my gemstones are natural. Some may have been treated or enhanced, but none are synthetic or manmade. All of the symbols and their descriptions are used by the American Gem Trade Association. The following symbols are used to describe gemstones sold with BCB Bracelets:
(C) - Coating: Surface treatments to improve appearance, provide color or other special effects.
(D) - Dyeing: The introduction of coloring matter into a gemstone to give it new color, intensifying present color or improve color uniformity.
(E) - Enhanced: This indicates that this type of gemstone is routinely enhanced. Since many treatments are difficult or impractical to prove definitely, the approach taken in our printed materials and invoices is to assume, unless otherwise indicated, that such treatment has been done to the particular gemstone material being described. If the particular type of treatment is known, that treatment symbol will be stated, rather than the "E" symbol.
(H) - Heating: The use of heat to effect desired altercation or color, clarity and/or phenomena.
(N) - Natural: Stones which are not currently known to be enhanced.
(W) - Waxing/Oiling: The impregnation of a colorless wax, paraffin and/or oil in porous opaque gemstones to improve their appearance.
CARING FOR YOUR BRACELET
Natural gemstones can be fragile depending on the hardness of the stone and should be treated as such. All of my bracelets are adjustable meaning you must pull the cord to tighten it to your liking. Once you tighten it to your liking, simply take the cord that's hanging free and tuck it behind itself. To loosen it, simply put your pointer finger under the cord slip-knot and lightly pull so it becomes loose.
When you need to clean your bracelet, I recommend doing so only when it's necessary. Do not use any chemicals as it can damage and/or discolor the gems including the paracord. If you need to clean your stones, simply use warm soapy water and gently clean the beads with your finger or a soft sponge. Once clean, it's highly recommended to let air dry in a safe area such as a counter top away from children, animals or a window not in the sun. To store, please store your bracelet in your mesh bag and place in a safe area. Avoid exposing your stones to high heat and direct sunlight for long periods of time to avoid discoloration and damage to your bracelet.
